East Hampton Boys Soccer With More Shutouts
After defeating New Rochelle, 7-0, on September 9 as part of the Jericho Tournament, the Bonackers (2-1-1 in League VI, 4-1-1 overall) blanked Rocky Point, 5-0, at home on September 13. Gary Gutama scored two goals and John Bustamante scored a goal and had two assists in the win over Rocky Point. All four victories so far this season have come via shutouts.
Bonac Football Falls at Hauppauge
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton football team lost, 30-7, at Hauppauge on September 13 to fall to 1-2 in Division III. Charlie Corwin helped Bonac avoid being shut out with a 41-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.
Pair of Nonleague Wins For Bonac Swimming
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton girls swimming team swept its pair of nonleague meets to open the season last week. After defeating Sachem North, 86-79, on September 12, at the East Hampton YMCA, the Bonackers traveled to Sachem East, where they were once again winners, 91-70. East Hampton started the meet against Sachem North with a victory and a qualifying time for the county meet in the 200-yard medley relay. Against Sachem North, the Bonackers won 10 of the 11 events to easily take the meet.
East Hampton Girls Volleyball Pulls Out Five-Set Win at Deer Park
Katie Kuneth had 15 kills, three assists and 16 digs in the Bonackers’ 3-2 victory at Deer Park on September 12. Olivia Yellen had 17 assists in the 13-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-20, 15-13 match. East Hampton (3-2 in League IV) did suffer its first two losses of the season following the Deer Park victory. After losing, 3-2, at East Islip on September 14, the Bonackers lost, 3-1, at home to Smithtown West on Monday.
Bonac Girls Tennis Suffers First Loss
The East Hampton/Pierson girls tennis team lost, 4-3, at home to Smithtown East on September 14, but before then had defeated host West Islip, 4-3, on September 12, and after that defeated host Center Moriches, 6-1, on Friday.
Southampton Girls Soccer Picks Up First Win
The Mariners (1-4 in Division III, 1-5-1 overall) defeated host Wyandanch, 9-0, on September 12 for their first victory of the season. Harper Souhrada had a goal and two assists while Ava Lima, Vivienne Archer, Samanta Rea, Jillian Swiatocha, Reese Swiatocha, Emma Vail and Riley Cameron each scored a goal.
Southampton Football Drops Home Opener
The Mariners played football on their home turf for the first time since 2019, but suffered a 41-7 loss to Babylon on September 13. Devon Palmore ran a kickoff back 75 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter for Southampton, which is 0-2 in Division IV to start the season.
Sandstrom Leads Hampton Bays Golf
Erik Sandstrom shot a 39 at Gardiners Bay to lead the Baymen (3-0 in League VII) to their third straight victory, 8-1, over Shelter Island on September 14.
Tapasco Scores Game-Winner For Baymen Boys Soccer
Brian Tapasco scored with three minutes remaining in the second overtime to give Hampton Bays the 2-1 victory at home over Mount Sinai on September 13. Charlie Garcia added a goal for Hampton Bays, assisted by Kevin Londono.
Five Straight Wins For Baymen Girls Volleyball
The Hampton Bays girls volleyball team defeated Shoreham-Wading River in three sets, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14, on Monday for their fifth consecutive victory to start the season. The Baymen have only lost one set through their first matches coming in a nonleague against Riverhead. Tania Quiros had 14 kills and 17 digs against Shoreham while Asha Pensa-Johnson added 11 kills and three blocks. Nellie Nicolova had 13 digs, Julia Brandeis had 11 assists and Gianna Betta had 16 assists.
Hurricane Boys Soccer Lands in Win Column
Anthony Sanchez and Grady Ambrose each scored a goal in the second half to lead Westhampton Beach (1-2 in League VI, 1-3 overall) to a 2-1 victory at home over Comsewogue on September 14. Truman Hahn had one assist and Jacob Permakoff made eight saves in goal.
Another Win for Westhampton Beach Boys Volleyball
The Hurricanes (4-0) continued their strong start to the season with a 3-0 victory at home over Bayport-Blue Point on September 13. They won in 25-8, 25-16, 25-20 sets.

The Westhampton Beach girls tennis team has won its first seven matches of the season through Monday, the latest a 5-2 nonleague victory at Half Hollow Hills East on September 13.
