William Pendergast, 44, of Remsenburg was arrested by Westhampton Beach Police on November 30 and charged with misdemeanor DWI. Pendergast was pulled over at 10:37 p.m. at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Mill Road in Westhampton Beach after failing to maintain his lane while traveling west on Montauk Highway, police said. He admitted he had consumed a tequila drink before driving, according to police, who said he performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and a breath test came up with a reading of .17. Pendergast was transported to Town Police headquarters, where he spent the night. He was released the next day with a future court date.
Kevin Sagastume, 23, of Riverhead was arrested at about 6:25 p.m. on November 26 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after he was involved in a car accident on County Road 39 in Southampton and tried to flee the scene but was stopped by police a short distance away. The arresting officer reported that a breath alcohol test showed that the driver had been drinking.
Irving Gazga-Reyes, 33, of Sag Harbor was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. on November 26 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after he was pulled over for a traffic violation and a breath alcohol detector indicated he’d been drinking.
Oswaldo Espinoza-Mogrovejo, 46, of Hampton Bays was stopped at a DWI checkpoint on Flanders Road at about 9:45 p.m. on November 27 and police officers noticed a bottle of liquor on the passenger seat of his vehicle. When asked what was in it, the driver threw the bottle out the window and said it was nothing, according to police. Officers said it was a bottle of whiskey. A breath alcohol test indicated he was over the legal blood alcohol content limit. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and placed under arrest.
Roberto Granado-Sanches, 38, of Riverhead was stopped at a DWI checkpoint on Flanders Road shortly after 10 p.m. on November 27 and an officer reported smelling the scent of alcohol on his breath. An alcohol prescreen test indicated he was over the legal BAC limit and he was placed under arrest and charged with misdemeanor DWI.
Agabo Rocha-Alcauter, 52, of East Hampton was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. on November 29 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after he was pulled over on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton for erratic driving. The arresting officer reported that Rocha-Alcauter smelled of alcohol and performed poorly on a field sobriety test.
