Sag Harbor Village DWI Arrest for the Week of May 30

Andrea Cassissa, 35, of Chicago was arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge by Sag Harbor Village Police on Sunday evening. According to police, Cassissa was driving a late-model Jeep Wrangler west on Jermaine Avenue at 44 mph where the speed limit is 20, leading to a traffic stop. After the traffic stop, the officer believed her intoxicated and had her perform roadside sobriety tests, on which she performed poorly, police said. At police headquarters, she refused to take a breath test, police said. That refusal, under New York State vehicle and traffic law, required that Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace, during Cassissa’s Memorial Day morning arraignment, to suspend her driving privileges in the State of New York for the next year, pending a hearing at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
