In earlier years, she was known as a “Motocross Mom,” as she was frequently found at the Yaphank track with her son as he raced motocross into his teenage years.
Most Springs kids knew her for being “Mike’s Mom,” and also as the crossing guard lady at the corner of Gardiner Avenue and School Street.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Georgie Schoen of Sag Harbor.
She is survived by her son, Michael Gomez, of East Hampton; her brother Roy Schoen; and her four nieces, Tiffany Schoen, Katie Sipsas, Lindsay Schoen and Madison Schoen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Springs Fire Department would be appreciated by the family.
