Bonac Boys Volleyball Wins Three Straight
Including a 3-1 victory at home over East Islip on September 29, the East Hampton boys volleyball have won three straight matches after defeating Sayville, 3-0, at home on October 3 and winning, 3-1, at Center Moriches on October 5. The Bonackers are 4-5 with 97.37 power points.
East Hampton Girls Volleyball Facing Uphill Battle
A 3-1 loss to East Islip on Senior Day on Monday dropped the Bonackers to 6-5 in League IV play (6-6 overall) and they will need to win two of their final three matches to clinch a playoff spot. All three of those games are on the road against Eastport-South Manor, Smithtown West and Hauppauge, the top three teams in the league, respectively.
Bonac Football Loses Tight Game
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton football team held Comsewogue to its lowest offensive output yet this season. The problem is the Bonackers couldn’t get on the board themselves in the 14-0 loss at Comsewogue’s homecoming on Saturday. East Hampton is 2-4 in Division III.
Another Victory for Bonac Girls Swimming
The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton girls swim team defeated host West Islip, 58-41, on October 3 to improve to 2-0 in League III matches, 4-0 overall. The Bonackers jumped out to a 7-3 lead after winning the first ever, the 200-yard medley relay, and were able to hold on to the lead the rest of the way. The girls took first in all but one swimming event, and they took first and second places in five events.
Casey’s Goal Leads Pierson Field Hockey
Shelby Casey scored a third-quarter goal off an Eva McKelvey assist to lead Pierson to a 1-0 victory at Southampton on Friday. Grace D’Angelo made one save in goal for the Whalers (3-8 in Division II), while Neveaha Bell made eight saves for Southampton.
Whalers Girls Volleyball Ends Losing Streak
The Pierson/Bridgehampton girls volleyball team defeated host Shelter Island, 3-0, on October 4 to bring an end to a three-match losing streak. The Whalers are 4-8 in League VII, 4-10 overall.
Southampton Boys Soccer Tops Bayport-Blue Point
The Mariners won, 3-0, at Bayport-Blue Point on October 5 to improve to 3-6 in League VIII, 4-8 overall.
Kreymborg’s Goals Lead Southampton Field Hockey
Carlie Kryemborg scored twice in the third quarter to lead Southampton to its first victory of the season, 2-0, at Comsewogue on October 4. Malu Garcia added an assist and Neveaha Bell made six saves.
Four Different Scorers for Southampton Girls Soccer
Vivienne Archer, Jaylin Maloney, Jillian and Reese Swiatocha each scored to lead Southampton (4-8-1) to a 4-1 home victory over Port Jefferson on October 3. Ella Liebnitzky made eight saves. The Mariners are 4-8 in Division III, 4-9-1 overall, with 85.24 power points.
Mariner Girls Volleyball Tops Ross
The Southampton girls volleyball team defeated the Ross School, 3-0, for the second time this season. It is 3-9 in League VII.
Baymen Golf Nearly Shuts Out Greenport
The Hampton Bays golf team won, 8.5-0.5, over Greenport/Southold at Islands End Golf Course on October 5. Erik Sandstrom shot a low 37 to lead the Baymen who are 5-5 in League VII.
Hampton Bays Boys Soccer Clinches Playoff Spot
A 4-0 victory at Mount Sinai punched the Baymen’s ticket to the Suffolk County Class A playoffs for the first time since 2019. Charlie Garcia scored three goals and Edie Cabrera added three assists. Hampton Bays also defeated Bayport-Blue Point, 5-0, at home on October 3. Garcia had a hat trick in that game as well.
Baymen Girls Volleyball Loses at Shoreham
League title hopes took a big hit for the Hampton Bays girls volleyball team (6-2 in League VI, 12-2 overall) after it lost, 3-1, at Shoreham-Wading River on Monday morning. The Baymen were hoping to win out the rest of the season, including this Friday’s home match against Bayport-Blue Point, to win the title outright, but now they’ll need some help in order to do that.
